We are a student group that takes excess food from restaurants and donates it to people in need. We are based out of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
Our chapter recovers food Monday-Friday.
We store the excess food from restaurants in our own refrigerators for local hunger agencies to pick up each day of the week. We also directly distribute some of the food to partner soup kitchens on the weekends.
Since the fall of 2014, our chapter has recovered 17,731.5 lbs of food. Based on the USDA's definition of a meal, that is approximately 14,776.25 meals saved from waste.
